No, she's taking her kids OUT of public school and putting them in private and she apparently wants her school supplies back after being there one day.

Obviously you made the correct decision. Withdrawing from public school on day 2 (FCPS) or a week before school starts (APS) shows excellent organization on your end, much more than the school has displayed.

I find our Principal's lack of response to email to be infuriating and so frustrating.
That said, the one time we had an urgent issue she responded quickly and professionally and handled everything well.

My kids teachers, on the other hand, always respond to emails within a day, even if it's just a "check in" to let me know they haven't forgotten about it.

OP, try and wait and judge the school based on your child's educational experience, not on the responsiveness of an overworked administrator.

What was the reason for the email? This is an incredibly busy time of year, I think everyone needs to have reasonable expectations.

Sometimes I get a response or an acknowledgement email, sometimes I don't. I don't consider an acknowledgement email to be the best indicator of a school or its administration.

Did you just send it in the last day or so? I would expect a response within a week given that they just started classes. You will likely get a response. But, you are now a widget in the great big machine. You are no longer considered a "paying customer" who must be kept happy in order to keep the $$ flowing (as it would be in private school).

Adjust your expectations and you will live a happier life in public school.

How long has it been since you sent the email?

We are finding moving our kids from Private to Public has been a huge mistake. Is it normal for the school administration to not even bother to acknowledge emails from parents (Emails sent to Principal/Registrar)? What are we missing here? At the earlier school our kids attended every email sent was acknowledged with a response.
This "no response" - its so rude
