Most of the time, nothing. Sometimes a filled Kong. Like the others, I'm concerned about choking while I am away from him because he tends to bite off more than he can chew.

Our dog doesn't eat anything we leave in there, so it's just the dog and a "chew proof" cushion. A couple minor holes in the cushion.

When he is in the crate during the day for above mentioned reasons, he has toys, blankets and depending on the weather, water. But he is not in there for more than about 1 hour to 90 mins max.

I don't understand these people giving their dogs cheese and peanut butter. That is really unhealthy and the dog will get fat and farty.

We have given our dog a peanut butter Kong every workday of his life and he is neither fat nor farty. It’s a small amount.

How old is he?

2 years old and we have had him since he was a puppy. He has been at the same weight since he stopped growing around 11 months.

Kong with Pb but not much else because I tend to think of it like babies and cribs - if something happens you’re not there to hear/see it

One of those gerbil water bottles attached to wires. It's not a lot of water but if they are thirsty, it will help.

Kongs are good but my dog would clean it out in a minute

I'm not a fan of crates once the dog is trained though. I think they need to roam around.

Get one of those balls you can put kibble or treats in. They have to knock it around and the kibble falls out. Won't work as well in a crate though.

Kong bone with cheese bits inside - DS has a lethal peanut allergy and I won't have that stuff in the house.

I once left his bowl with kibble, since it was his dinner time, and returned to find the bowl nearly destroyed...

A peanut butter kong. I'm scared to put anything else because she is known to ingest things she shouldn't (hence why she's crated!)

NP Ha, ha! I think op was thinking of things to entertain said dog!

Some people put Kongs with peanut butter ( I think frozen so it takes more time) favorite toys. We used to play classical music as well. Now we don't use the crate because she is older and is very good!
