We didn't use frozen eggs and didn't do a shared cycle, so that affects the # of blasts/eggs significantly. We ended up with 10 blasts and should have PGS results today or tomorrow. I'm going to transfer 1 normal (assuming we have that, which we should). I know enough people who have had significant issues with twin pregnancies that it doesn't make sense to me to transfer more than one normal embryo. I'd love twins, but not at the expense of my health or the health of one of the babies. There is still a risk of identical twins, but you can't really control that. I also did lots of OE cycles, but no PGS for those and since the odds are so low that I had normal embryos we transferred up to 3 blasts.

I am starting to wrap my head around moving to DE after 6 unsuccessful OE cycles and 2 miscarriages over 2 years. I am 40+ and curious about the experience people had with DE at various clinics. How old were you when you did DE? How many eggs did you get and how many blasts did they turn into? How many cycles did it take? What was the maximum number of embryos they let you transfer, presuming 1 or 2?

After such a long, painful process I know I am ready to move to DE bc I just want to be successful. Not that I have flipped that switch I want it to happen right away and thinking about how to maximize my chances.
