Also why bus drivers may seem to be intense or terse with you. Mcps are not the kindest of task masters.

PP here. Yes I agree. I’ll call transportation on Monday. If they require me to meet him, I’ll have to ask for drop off to occur at a my daughters bus stop so I can get both of them.

Just an FYI for parents, for buses without AC, on hot days please consider giving/offering bottles of water at drop off to aids and bus drivers stuck in these roasting boxes. They usually bring their own but sometimes run out and stuck on the bus for hours.

At least last year, they gave me a letter to sign on the first day allowing my 4th grader to be dropped off without an adult present. I returned it the second day and never had to be outside the house after the first day. Definitely have a plan for the first couple of days, but after that you should be fine (assuming your child is over 8 years old).

AC is good! I would assume then that the WC is wheelchair so maybe the bus is wheelchair accessible with air conditioning.

The letters went out Friday. AC after a route number means air conditioned. I do t know about the other letters. Another kid on the route probably requires it.

They will come in a letter in the mail. They all generally come around the same time (unless your child was just found eligible) so you’ll probably get it in the next week. ?

OP, how did you get the info? I’m eager to hear my child’s bus routes.

OP here- I was also pleasantly surprised to have a few weeks to plan with the times! ?

We care about children—just kidding. I don’t know but I know Mcps doesn’t care about kids.

I got my son’s bus routing info today. For one of his routes, it is listed as the 4 digit number and then hyphen-WCAC. What does the WCAC stand for? He’s had busing for years but I have never seen this so was just curious. Thank you!
