This is the case even if prior to the divorce one spouse handled most or all child- related responsibilities.

Maybe he doesn’t want to take any responsibility for the consequences of divorce. If in the future the kids will be resentful or struggling psychologically and financially he could always say ‘your mother wanted this divorce’.

I don't know, but in the same situation. I think my DH has such poor organizational management skills he's waiting for me to do all the work of separating our lives. I do everything now, so this is par for our marriage.
