- Maybe they don’t want their kid at a school with sky high FARMs and horrid test scores?
- Maybe they have an older sibling that went to Maury or MVCCS and the family doesn’t feel like starting over at a new school after years of investment with the other school?
- Maybe they have safety concerns about their 45 pound, 3 foot tall, 7 year old child crossing a street in front of a 300 trip-per-day freaking Metro bus center without a crossing guard?
- Maybe they have zero faith that the current principal will stay longer than a year?
- Maybe they’ve been watching the absolute sh*t show that it has been for the last 5 years and don’t want their child to be yet another Guinea pig in the latest attempt to fix it?
- Maybe every other kid on the block has gone to Maury or MVCS and they want to be part of the community?
My kids won’t be going there, that’s for damn sure. We’ll go private before we subject our daughters to that place.
You've wasted so much time writing this post. These are not reasons to grant a transfer. We get that people don't want to go there, but again, these are not reasons the SB will let you transfer now.

What was the reasoning for the transfers out of Jefferson Houston? Especially into hard to come by Maury?
You mean besides that it's unaccredited, sky high FARMS, and has had a constant revolving door- something like 4 principals in 5 years?
You'd send your kid there over the other schools?
NP zoned for J-H. Those aren't reasons they will grant transfers, though.

Elementary school.
Del Ray is zoned for GW for middle and is the most desirable public middle school in the city so a transfer out would be peculiar.
OP said this is the slice of Del Ray zoned for J-H. It is zoned J-H for both elementary and middle.
Were the transfers to MVCS? I guess that would be a programmatic transfer, though.
