You can buy $5 grandstand seats starting two hours before game time. We buy them and then sit somewhere else. Great deal.

Try the Gametime app. DH finds last minute tickets on it for ridiculous prices. They have a 5yr deal with mlb, so the tickets are guaranteed authentic.

I sell tickets on StubHub. They're available until the scheduled first pitch. My seats are usually heavily discounted from face value (often 60% or more) and they still sometimes do not sell. There is usually abundant seats there because the Nats make it easy for season ticket holders to sell extra seats there. Friday and Saturday night seats or good visiting teams sell for more than the rest.

We’ve gotten the $5 tickets at the stadium before. You can actually see pretty well from those 400 seats, but we’ve also just gone in the Bud Porch to eat as well. Good deal.

I have never had luck waiting for ticket prices to drop on Stubhub, which you would expect that they would. I assume lots of people end up eating tickets, and it might be related to the fact that they shut down the site a couple hours before the game even when tickets are automatic download.

Stubhub takes all the tickets down before game time. It varies by market. I think for Nats games, they disappear two hours before game time (unless they changed it recently).

Yup they are called Capitol View seats....400 level. They are sold the day of the game only. Not sure if they are on sale one hour before or earlier.

Grandstand Seating

Seating in Sections 401 and 402 offers a great value at $5 per ticket for Regular, Prime and Marquee Games ($15 for Diamond Games). Grandstand seats go on sale at Nationals Park each gameday, 2 hours prior to first pitch. Grandstand seats are limited to one (1) ticket per customer and the customer must be present at time of purchase. Grandstand seating is available exclusively at the Main Box Office and upon purchasing Grandstand seating, fans must immediately enter Nationals Park.

I was in the neighborhood of Nationals Park and chatted with a uniformed staffer on her way to work there. She told me that if you get to the ballpark with less than an hour to go before game time, you can get tickets for $6 at the windows if the game is not sold out. Does this make sense?
