However, I don't think the auto tariff will come to fruition.

NO- the first year of it just came out July 4 weekend. It will likely be a year + before the 2020 comes out.

NO- the first year of it just came out July 4 weekend. It will likely be a year + before the 2020 comes out.

Can you find out when the next model year comes out? They might be coming out the second part of the current year in which case you might not need to wait a full year.

We were thinking of buying a new car within the next 2 years. Our current cars are an 11 year old Acura and an 8 year old VW. I wanted to get rid of the VW before we have serious issues.

My original plan was to wait until next year and get the 2nd model year of the Subaru Ascent - but now with tariffs reconsidering pulling in my purchase as I think the price of new cars will go up a few thousand dollars. I know it does not seem like a lot - but a few K is the difference between a local ski vacation and staying home.

We are gov't employees so it is not like our salaries are going to adjust significantly to inflation.

Thoughts on pulling in the purchase a few months.
