Is “slick” all we need now? Wow what standards.

I wasn't impressed by Garza either for many of the same reasons the PP cited. Plus, Lubbock? Really?

I haven't seen any big missteps from Brabrand since he came back to FCPS as Superintendent. He's a big talker, and he's slick, but he also seems to know the details.

I was far less impressed with Garza, who didn't seem very familiar with individual schools, placed greater reliance on lower-level staff, and at times was willing to engage in scorched-earth tactics with the county BOS and state officials that created unnecessary friction.

I worked for him at Fairfax HS when he was principal. He was known as "The Main Man." All of the students loved him. He's fluent in Spanish, and would hang out with the Latino kids in the hallway. Their test scores jumped dramatically, and that's why he was promoted to assistant superintendent when he left. He's a very slick, charming dude....and I liked him. Always knew he was on the fast track to the top. Now let's see where FCPS is in five years.

Great maybe he should go hang out at Lee...

Not sure why he would get rid of people who are doing a great job though?

Brabrand is cleaning house....moving out all of the Garza cronies. She did the same thing back when she took over FCPS. It's what they all do...from presidents, to governors...all the way down to superintendents.

Well if one guy gets dismissed (FCPS high school) and the former middle school principal takes his place (Erin Lenart) and then someone from within FCPS has to take on her job... makes perfect sense.

There are 188 schools in FCPS, how many do you think there should be in a given year? This year is on the medium high side of normal, IME.

Is it just my impression or have there been a lot more new appointments and people being shifted around this spring than in previous years?
Just within a five mile radius of our house, there have been two new appointments in the last three months. They both came as a surprise--in one we know the principal didn't leave voluntarily and in the other one the principal moved on to a new position within FCPS but l had been on the job less than five years.
