We’ve had the kitten for a little over 2 months. He’s a snuggle bug when he’s sleepy (and tries to snuggle with her sometimes), but he’s also a crazy jumper/climber.

Hmm, I’m the one who got two kittens when we already had one cat, but ours was 13 when we got them which is much different then 3. I might give it some more time like a PP said. How long have you had the kitten?

This is what I’ve wondered. Kitten is now almost 5 months old, though. Jumps on and bites cat. Recently drew blood (just a drop though). Cat is currently sick with fever. Vet says stress from kitten flared up a previously dormant virus.

How old is the older cat? I think that makes a difference.

Your kitten is too kittenish for your cat's comfort. That will sort itself out in 4-6 months. Getting a second kitten is a 20 year solution to a 4 month problem. And you haven't even said what the "stress" to your cat looks like - is it sick? Is it losing hair? Or is it just not charmed by its new roommate?

There's always room for ANOTHER kitten!!

This is what we did 4 years ago. We now have three cats - a 17 year old and 2 4 year old litter mates. It is a little crazy to think we have three cats, but as far as care, etc it’s not much different than 2 cats. The 17 year old doesn’t really play anymore, but she likes the company of the two cats and they all get along.

We got two kittens, littermates, a few years ago. One recently died. Friends gave us the advice that the young cat might accept a kitten more readily than another adult.

We adopted a kitten. Kitten is super active. Kitten likes cat, but is too rough with her. Our professional pet sitters said all was well, and kitten would start picking up signals from cat on how to behave.

Pet sitters now thinking cat is stressed out by our “little firecracker” (their words).

Other friends have told us to get another kitten (making three cats total). They said kitten 2 will play with kitten 1, and kitten 2 will leave cat alone.

1. This seems bananas.
2. We wanted a playmate for cat. Will this keepcat lonely?
But
3. Neither pet is completely happy right now. Kitten wants playmate. Cat keeps being bitten by kitten.

Amy suggestions? We did a slow introduction like all the books say, but they just have different energy levels.
