You'd have to expect some quirks if you're the first to move into a building, as they're often working through a punch list of final construction tasks and the staff will all be new to the building.
I highly prefer being the first to move in for that reason. Your pick of the properties and not wondering what that 'smell' is from having 5-6 other owners before you.
So you’ll never live where someone else lived before you? What a weirdo. How do you function in hotels?

Anonymous wrote:$2,200 for a one-bedroom isn't that hard. If you don't mind something smaller than 600 sqft?
Keep in mind that the below apartments also have amenities fees, pet fees, and parking fees.
Modern on M - Waterfront
$2,255 1-bedroom, 533 sqft

Jefferson Marketplace - Shaw
$2,173 1-bedroom, 607 sqft

If you could push it up to $2,300 a month I highly recommend the Incanto in Waterfront. I believe it is the nicest apartment building in D.C. includes a huge terraced rooftop garden, 3,000+ square foot gym, an infinity pool, a dog run etc
Plus everything is brand-new.
