Dr. Stephanie Stein

The guidance on thyroid levels for TTC/pregnancy have changed over the past few years. In my experience, I have had doctors who follow the old thinking (my GP) and those that follow the new guidance (endo/OB). Be sure to check which range you're referencing.

My experience with Dr Mark Tanen at Tyson’s has been really good.

Functional medicine doctor who specializes in hypothyroidism. If they suggest T4 without adding T3, insist on t3 and find a new dr.

My GP, gyno, and fertility doctor would not test my thyroid past the baseline test since it was in the normal range but low. I decided to take the full panel through everlywell online. My T4, T3, and TSH are all either below the range or at the line. I am looking for a recommendation on next steps. Endocrinologist? If so, does anyone have a recommendation for someone in downtown DC or northern Va?
Thanks!
