Did you read the article? The coach spent three years grooming her and ingratiating himself with her family. He molested her in the car in the presence of her family.
Yes, and it makes me wonder how the parents didn't notice any of it. I would not be ok with a coach and child sharing a blanket in my car.
So you'd constantly be turning around from the front seat for four hours riding home? Or holding open a mirror to look behind you for four hours straight?
There is absolutely no reason for the coach to be in the car. Coaches who are predators get to the parents as well. They build the trust their first so the parents are also telling the kid isn't Coach Bob wonderful, he is so great etc.
Coaches should never give kids a ride and parents should give coaches rides.
I’m not going to click the link because it looks odd, but I don’t agree that a coach cannot be giving rides appropriately. I’m a former teacher and coach and often gave kids rides to their home or Metro, or even along with me on an errand. I don’t know that this is still commonly done with all the abuse and molestation reports coming out seems like weekly, but this was not unusual in the communities I taught in. Another teacher I know gave students his cell phone number so they could text him about homework, soccer practice, etc.
