These were a godsend on our recent trip, wore it under dresses, jeans, slacks. Saw plenty of ladies in Europe with sneakers and dresses, didnt feel odd at all. I chose a slightly different style from cole haan but the same collection

Agree -- Dansko footbed is basically a clog, designed for hours of standing, but not for walking. Also, that shoe can easily slip right off your foot; to keep a sandal on, you need a strap -- across the instep on top or at the heel in back.

https://arche-shoes.com/store/pc/home.asp Arche makes good shoes that last, but they’re pricey. I wore a pair around Paris last year with no issues, but they were already broken in. It took a few wears for them to be truly comfortable.

Look for European walking shoes. Personally I like Ecco but there are other brands. Be prepared to pay but IMO they are worth it.

Can you recommend your favorite walking shoes? I need something that is tough to handle cobblestones and various types of pavements. Also, I prefer one that I could wear with any attire. I already have hiking shoes, but I can't wear them with a dress or nice pants. I need a go to shoe that is both comfortable and versatile for my upcoming trip to Europe. Does a shoe like this exist? In the past I have packed multiple shoes. However, due to weight restrictions (luggage) and space I only want to take one pair of shoes on this trip.
