If you do not report and DD later decides she wants to use the AP credit (perhaps for placement reasons) be aware that registration deadlines may force her to get the scores reported on an expedited basis, eroding whatever saving might be achieved. This can be avoided by planning ahead, but sometimes such decisions get put off until it is too late.

OP here. We shared all of the junior scores, but my son's 3 was in APUSH which doesn't matter for engineering. We figured they'd know if scores were missing and really wanted to report the others.

The schools don't care in the least if you report your scores. In fact easier for them as they won't have to award any credit for scores they didn't receive.

What if dc is a junior? I heard if you don't self report the AP scores, the schools will assume they're bad? Dc's scores are a range. One 2, one 3 and two 4's. Should he just not send any of the scores or just pick the better ones to send?

(my kid only took the tests because at his school, if you don't take them you don't get the quality point and you have to pay back the $$)

Hi.

My daughter got her AP scores, and we're happy (enough). She is retaking those classes because at least at his school, engineers usually don't skip forward on their science/math classes, regardless.

We don't see the point of reporting the scores.

If you have experience to share on the pros and cons of getting the scores sent, please share.

And now that scores are released, congrats to all!

Considering that my kid showed up for his exams without studying (yeah, I wanted to kill him), we're plenty happy with his scores.
