I am a Catholic school graduate and the idea that Catholic high schools are telling gay kids that they’re going to hell, let alone every day, is silly and couldn’t be more inaccurate.

Depends on the age of the kid, and where we lived. In the SF Bay Area, I'd probably be okay with it. In this area, with one of the most conservative dioceses in the country, I probably wouldn't.

I think it really depends on the school. My kid at St. John’s came out as a sophomore and received nothing but support.

Given that there are more than a few gay Catholic priests, they're not telling kids who identify as gay that they're going to hell.

I have a gay son. No I would t send him to a catholic school. It’s hard enough for a teen to be different. I would never want him to feel bad about who he is and I can’t imagine that a catholic school wouldn’t present a significant possibility of this occurring.

Not sure about in this area as I don't have experience, but my niece and nephews go to a Catholic school in CA that is very inclusive. Nephew came out after being in the school from 3rd grade to when he moved to the upper school for high school. SIL & BIL asked if he wanted to change schools and he declined. They've not had any bullying issues, but their CA location is uber-liberal.

I wouldn't to a Catholic school, but I would consider a parochial school of a more open-minded sect.

Not if I cared about them. I would send them if I wanted them to kill themselves.
