When will you be out? When it's really hot months of the summer (august/Sept), you can probably get away with mowing it really short before you go. It won't grow much over the summer. But not in July.

Huh?

Obviously you have a concrete yard.

It grows slower in the summer than in the spring. And if it isn't watered then it goes dormant, unless there's sufficient rain.

The boys who mow for us base the price on their estimate of time and difficulty (hilly or flat, obstacles like paths or plants). If anything unexpected occurred, they either knocked on the door to warn me of the higher price or they let a note that they will apply the extra to the next mow.

Have a kid come by and mow it two weeks in, and again the day before you come home. Pay half in advance, half the day you get back.

It’s summer, that’s when grass grows. And we’ve had a really wet start to summer. Have someone come mid-way between and the day before you get back.

Our street is quite relaxed about grass height. One year we left for 6 months (November to April) and our grass hadn't grown much. This time, however, I'm not sure. I suppose it will depend on the amount of rain we get.
