I also always have chips & salsa. I always have pasta and sauce and I keep Texas toast in the freezer so I can throw together a quick meal on demand. Another big hit is the mini frozen hot dogs. I also keep the basement fridge stocked with water and gatorade. And a few bags of candy.
For the summer we seem to get a lot of last minute hangouts so I buy a few things at Costco like cheese and crackers that I can put out.
