I'm 22:13. About a week after I saw the flying ants, I had an infestation in my door jamb. They were coming in from outside via a terrace. Two years of spraying later, I have not seen any ants this year. FWIW.[/quote]

This is me. I should clarify- their entrance hole was in my door jamb. Their nest was inside the frame of the house.

carpenter ants are almost as bad as termites. they do eat wood. you need to call an exterminator

They are carpenter ants. They are everywhere and they probably just flew in the door. If you've only seen a couple of them, it's not a problem. They are not especially dangerous but they do bite/pinch and it does not feel good at all. They're not venomous so if you do get a bite, the welt will go away in a short time but it's still not fun.

Termites was my first thought, too.

I have noticed big ants with wings one in mud room ,one near sink and another crawling on wall ? Are they dangerous ?are they carpenter ants ? Did they just flew in? I left garage door open or I have infestation?
