+1 for Skill Builders! We love our SLPs there- one for individual and one for group.

Try SkillBuilders. They are in McLean, Annandale, and just opened a new office in Del Rey. I don't know what kind of social skills groups they have available at all the locations, but they have some very good SLPs who work on social skills.

We're moving to from MoCo to Alexandria next month. My 6-year-old daughter has very high functioning ASD, but is excluded socially because of her complete lack of social skills. She's mostly polite, but immature, constantly in other people's personal space, has limited impulse control, and generally annoys the other kids (and some adults). She is very, very hurt that no one likes her, and sobs that she's lonely and no one wants to play with her- it's heartbreaking. This is definitely not going to be improved by moving away from the few sort-of friends that she does have.

Can anyone recommend a good formal or informal group or therapist that can work with us?
