Nope. It was supplemented by a 4 carat eternity band for my 10 year anniversary.

Focus on what is important.

Cheap trick: scrub your ring with Dawn and a soft toothbrush. Keep the diamond clean. You’d be amazed how much bigger it looks.

How long have you been married? You could always upgrade it at some point. Or you could get it reset in a way that makes it appear larger.

But honestly a one carat ring is not small--DCUM just has a warped sense of engagement ring sizes. Mine is a little bit more than a carat and it's bigger than all of my friends' (it was a family stone--if we were buying new I would have wanted smaller). I actually never wear it outside of special occasions because I think it looks a little flashy and braggy.

I wish my ring was bigger, I wish my house was nicer, wish my car was new, wish my kids went to that fancy smancy school, wish i had a vacation house, wish i had nicer appliances, wish i had a rowing machine etc etc. I can make dozens of things I wish I had but none of them really matter nor do I care enough to chase the fleeting thought of more more more. My sister wasn't happy with her ring. And guess what? She wasn't happy with her first house, her job, her vacations, etc etc. In my experience people who are unhappy about things like engagement rings are just generally unhappy.

Me too - we were both 25 at the time and it was what he could afford. DH mentioned a few years ago about getting a bigger diamond, but I'd honestly rather spend the money on other things.

+1 This ring obsession is a stand-in for self-esteem issues, and the frequency of posts on it veers from hilarious to depressing. Take up a hobby, OP. Volunteer.

+2 How many posts do we see on this site from the spouses of super earners who never spend time with their families, cheat, are uninvolved, etc? Money isn't everything and focusing on (IMO stupid) material things like engagement rings will ruin your joy. DH and I bought my engagement ring jointly for $200 just to make getting engaged feel "official" but if having the "wrong" kind of engagement ring would diminish my happiness over my relationship with him, I would have skipped it entirely.

Wait until you have real problems in life. Or your divorce.

Yes likely to be divorced. I don’t get this at all.

Yes I wish mine was bigger. We could afford it when we bought it even though we were young. I have a beautiful eternity band as a wedding ring and love wearing just that though.

So why didn't you pitch in if you wanted a bigger ring?

Nope, I wish it was smaller. The stone itself is quite small but it's in a lot of intricate metal work and it makes the ring too bulky and it gets caught on everything so I never wear the ring, just my wedding ring.
