I absolutely love this show, mainly because of the two leads who I just want to get together so badly. In that respect, it reminds me of Mulder and Scully from the X-Files. However, the storyline/plots are SO convoluted and full of way too many suspects, red herrings, etc. I would prefer a much tighter story, if that makes sense. Too many random people to keep track of.

But oh, how I love Cormoran. The episode where his beloved aunt died just broke me. And then the one where he takes Robin out for her birthday... swoon.

Bumping this old thread because I've just now found this series! Loving it so far. I especially like it because I had never seen the lead in anything else (Tom Burke) and I'm obsessed. And I also love Holliday Grainger in this. What a beauty and a great actress.

The OP mentioned this show is produced by J.K. Rowling - she also wrote the books under her pen name, Robert Galbraith.

I watched this on Cinemax and thought it was a great detective show.

This is really one of my favorite detective series in a long time. C.B. Strike is a war vet with an amputated leg. His assistant wants to be his private detective investigator partner. It's produced by J.K. Rowling, a BBC production. They have strong accents.
