I can’t speak to recent experience but I was a member in elementary/middle school in the early 90s and it was an awesome experience. I’m glad to hear that it’s still thriving.

Is 11 too old to start a beginning class (will they be out of place, given that a lot of the classes show a starting age of 8)?

Yes, absolutely. DS did it for 5 years and became a proficient string player. He plays in college now.

Yes! Both of my kids have done DCYOP. It is a highly regarded program.
