+1. This is what we do with our soccer player (and thanks for the chuckle!). Don't need to put too much effort into it, they'll eat what they need. Just have plenty of food on hand.

no to JUNK FOOD!!! Pasta and high protein. You can do some supplements also. Have him train on his own i.e. go running to keep in shape.

Breakfast steel cut oatmeal with berries and nuts. Milk. Water.

Boys. 10 and almost 13.

My kids love protein. They aren’t huge carb fans.

Forgot— Fage Greek yogurt and yogurt smoothies, bananas and an apple a day.

My rising U14 kid doesn't eat meat other than bacon and fish sticks. He lives on pasta, smoothies, zone perfect bars, applesauce, and doritos, with the occasional black bean. Somehow he has enough energy. He has not yet hit puberty, though.

My son drinks one of those small chocolate milks after a hard practice to for faster muscle recovery. He also started to do some light strength training. I also limit the junk food, thankfully he isnt into sweets that much, and eat a bit more protein in the morning instead of the standard cereal. It helps that he enjoys boiled eggs to he eats one in the morning as a part of his breakfast. I tried to get him to eat greek yogurt with no luck. Also my 13yr is hitting a growth spurt and wants to eat everything in sight. As long as they are healthy seems to be all good.

Not nearly as much as I feed my swimmer. Homemade breakfast sandwiches are popular any time of day. Lean(ish) proteins, bananas.

Just limit the junk food. I think a balanced diet can include cookies and chips, but not an entire bag consumed in one sitting every day.

My son will move up to play the full field soon. It looks challenging. What do you feed your soccer player child to help build endurance and strength?
