The Blue Lagoon was cool, although it was freezing and windy outside when we went, so even just having our head above the water was super cold and we didn't stay too long.
We did a cave tour in the peninsula to the north of Reykjavik. That was very cool and the kids liked it a lot. There are a bunch of beaches you can visit that are cool (not for sunbathing or swimming) and a sort of mountain thing that you can walk up (there are stairs) that has amazing views in that area.
The puffins should be in season when you're there. You could also try a whale watch. The puffins weren't around when we were there and our whale watch got canceled due to bad weather, so I can't comment on those.
Gulfoss and the Geysir were also cool.
Keep in mind it's super windy in Iceland, so it'll feel colder than the listed temperatures. We went in the Spring, not Summer, so it may not be as drastic, but it was a lot colder than we expected just looking at the average high/low temps.

The Northern Lights can only be seen in complete darkness. Given that it isn’t completely dark in Iceland in the summer, you won’t see them. Oct-Apr is the best time to see them.
