Subject: What is your splurge-worthy item/service that you never regret spending?
Cleaner every 2 weeks (ask friends if theirs has any openings);
Organic milk (yes a splurge - we go through over $100 per month in organic milk);
Housing costs - ridiculous, but it was either buy the house (which has doubled in value since we bought 20 years ago), or pay for private school, we couldn't afford both.

Questions for those who do regular cleaning service:
I heard many stories of a few very unethical cleaning ppl going over & stealing things from the house ,and these things are hardly noticeable until the damage is huge.. Any issues related to it? How do you find a trustworthy people? How much do you pay?

I know this is also controversial (and really practice earth friendly living in other areas of my life) but I have 4 kids and this summer I bought a 1000 pack of paper plates and am giving myself the summer off from dishes! I keep track of everyones cup and beyond that one cup a day per kid I haven't really washed a thing beyond flatware!

We pay someone to do the dishes and put away the leftovers after Thanksgiving dinner so everyone can relax. We only get together once a year.

I know this one is controversial, but bi-weekly mosquito spraying. It's the only way our backyard and deck can actually be used.
