I had one friend who named her daughter Elliott long before Scrubs came on but that was an eccentric move on her part. It was totally a boys' name back in the day.

The other one that has surprised me is Ryan. I've met several girl Ryans.

I know-what is with the girls named Ryan?! Ugh.

I know an “Elliette,” too. Before the past few years, is only heard it as a boy’s name.

I think of it as a boys name and the only child I know who is named Elliott is a boy.

I just saw a celebrity on Instagram whose daughter is named Elliotte. Awful.

I hate giving little girls boys names. It's like saying there's something wrong with the girls names already there. People never name their boys girls names either, so it's pretty sexist.

Really? I always thought it's a boy's name.

Since that Grays Anatomy show.

I also know a little girl Elliott under age 4. I think it's a dumb name for a girl, she will always be correcting people. I think it's awful when parents give girls traditionally male names, and vice versa.

I am so confused. I know of four Elliotts, little girls, in our immediate circle. All are under 5. Is this a thing?
