Just make sure you have a solid internet connection before you call/Skype. I've witnessed connections in such cases that are really bad and it's very frustrating all around.

Good luck!

We use an ADHD coach on-line. Its been good for us, and more convenient than having to travel for an appointment.

My son speaks with a psychologist ever week online. Has done wonders.

My friend is a psychologist who does tele-medicine in rural areas and says it's surprisingly effective and intimate. For some patients it's a plus to know they won't run into their therapist while out and about.

I have not but like PPs, I absolutely would. In other specialties, I've seen NPs and they've all been great. The psychiatrists we've seen (and we've seen a LOT), haven't needed to see my kids in person to provide services.

I've seen a psych NP. She was better than any other other psychiatrists I've seen.

I agree with pp.

No, but I 100% would. Telemedicine is the best. And honestly I have been to a lot of psychiatrists appointments, and they’re pretty cut and dried — you list symptoms, they ask a few questions and write a prescription. It would work very well via telemedicine.

Curious. Of course our insurance company asked if we would accept either of these alternatives.
