They get a key when they're visiting us (they live a thousand miles away).

The key is on a giant, neon green, carabiner so it is bulky, tough to lose, and intentionally difficult to pocket.

No, but they live in another state. My family has a key, they also live in DC.

My mom does but my inlaws don't. They usually travel together to see us (they are from the same state) so they can all get in when they arrive. I would be fine if my inlaws had separate key, but right now they don't.

Yes, we gave them one after we got locked out one day. We panicked and gave our parents each a set of keys.

I wish I hadn’t given ILs a key.

Yes they still have keys from their last visit because we forgot to get the spare set back from them before they left. Not particularly concerned about it, they live across the country and only come here when we buy their plane tickets so no possible chance for a surprise drop in.

No but they have our garage code. They live 20 mins away but dont come over unannounced.
