It does seem easy in that you don't really seem to be doing any legal work, besides interpreting and applying the rules of ethics. I get that people could be upset if you call something a conflict that they disagree with, but ultimately, wouldn't this be a firm committee decision rather than your decision?

This job involves fighting with the firm's partners about whether or not they can take on a case. You will say no based on the bar rules and they will fight you tooth and nail. You will also be an intermediary between partners who have clients whose issues raise conflicts with each other. No thank you.

According to a Google search, about $150k.

Bumping this to ask if anyone here has experience with this position and can share pros/cons, salary, work expectations. Looking for a change!!!

Your general counsel runs conflicts checks on the cases that come in??? That is an incredibly time consuming job.

At my mid-size law firm in San Francisco the conflicts lawyer is General Counsel of the firm.
