Did you have it made into a different ring? Otherwise have it sit gathering dust is useless.

I would have sold it for 200 bucks. I just wanted it gone.

Oh nooo man this thread is depressing y'all could have done MUCH better

Suggestions? An auction house?

Not sure if that's true. I shopped my Vera Wang ring around a lot of places. It's not Tiffany, but my ex paid $11K for mine. The best price I could get was around $2K at Tyson's Watch and Jewelry Exchange.

If the stone(s) is/are GIA certified I'd suggest listing on loupetroop.com for 20% less than the current retail on jamesallen.com but if not you're probably going to take a bath.

I had an eternity band. It had the wedding date engraved inside the band so I didn't feel that I could sell it on Craigslist. If not for that, I'd have tried. I took it to 2 jewelers and they offered little. I then went to a "we buy gold" type place--but one with lots of very positive reviews online. They gave the best price (still a fraction of retail).

I have a friend who sold a large diamond solitaire on Craiglists for more than jewelers were willing to pay. She took precautions for safety (meeting in public, verifying identify of interested buyers, etc.).

I didn't, I gave it back to him along with the engagement ring. Both rings had family meaning for him and at that point they meant nothing to me. As we were dividing up property it was seen as a nice gesture by him and I'm sure I got something in return.

What percent of its original value did you recoup?
