And then she takes 2 solid weeks of vacation at some point during the year. It's a lot, but the trade off is that she is really flexible at other times. Like during the blizzard of 2016, public schools were closed the whole week (she follows FCPS for weather closures) but she opened up after 3 days because her driveway and roads were cleared.

Our in home is only closed when the federal government is closed.

Teacher training and staff development are all done during evenings or weekends. Each lead teacher takes a day a month (in the center) to work on planning, so their students are flexed with another teacher or a floater comes in.
