Yes, but traversing four corners to get to MK or Pinecrest is actually much worse walking or driving, even if the distance to Pinecrest is slightly less than the distance to Forest Knolls.

Really? Are there any other examples in MCPS where kids from the same grade school branch off into different middle schools? I was under the impression that MCPS never allows that to happen.

I live in the neighborhood and I just think being moved into Blair boundary is unlikely to happen. When new Blair opened in '98 our neighborhood was added to the boundary, but when Northwood re-opened in 2004, the boundary was adjusted. It doesn't make sense to be a couple blocks from Blair and not attend, but we're also closer to Northwood (within the designated walking distance) than many people are to their homeschool. If there wasn't an argument to be made a decade ago, I don't see how it will be any easier today, given the even greater overcrowding at Blair and the expansion of Northwood. My bigger concern would be loosing Forest Knolls, they're also overcrowded and we're a little on the far side from that school. I don't know where we'd be moved to, but FK is a gem. If you want Blair, aim for the CAP program, you'll find many in the neighborhood go that route.

Right. Boundary studies are ~18 months before school opening.

BCC seems like a stretch, but given your location a switch to Blair doesn't seem impossible.

I think the timeline for boundary decisions for DCC changes and Woodward is late 2020/early 2021.

The rezoning for Woodward will involve Walter Johnson and the DCC. It will not involve B-CC.

You could get redistricted to Blair. You won't get redistricted to BCC because I don't think BCC's border will shift east, and if it does, it would reach Takoma Park before Four Corners.

We are currently zoned for Northwood, even though we live across the street from Blair (which is crazy in my opinion).
Have always planned on going private for high school...but all this talk got me wondering...would we/could we get redirected to Einstein? Even BCC?
