The issue with trying to pull MD teams into the Mid Atlantic conference is the HS season in the fall, which causes scheduling issues. All the rest of the teams in the Mid Atlantic conference play HS in the spring.

Wilmington is in North Carolina not Delaware.

Other folks may know more but I don't think there is a limit on on DPs. With that said there are USSF expectations on DPs. Namely they are supposed to be there to eventually play. FCV this year really abused the designation by having alot of DPs at U14, none of which played a single game. So if you are asking because DD has a DP designation, beware.

Does the USSF site not provide info on the U13 showcase load? I will be surprised if they are doing more than 1 or 2.

So as an experiment, let's try self policing... feel free to "report" nuisance messages and have them removed. This could go very wrong of course, but anything is better than the fray on the FCV vs Loudoun thread.

It was typically done at home—not every week. When they had it, they were given specific assignments.

As far as differences in the leagues, I think the club and team fit is much more important than the league. The two leagues run in a very similar fashion.

We've been exposed to the 4 x week training regiment of GDA this year. The obvious thought is if 3x is good, then 4x must be better right? The answer is unequivocally yes, if we're talking about dedicated youth athletes with a singular focus on soccer, and there is a well thought out regimen for those 4 days a week. In my experience however, that last point is where the current GDA program needs help. For us, that 4th practice looked a whole lot like the other 3, and much of those 3 were repetitive. In this scenario, burnout is a real thing for sure. Further, the regimen was not very periodized...meaning for the most part, the same things were worked year round. It seems like regardless of the number of sessions per week, training must be periodized to keep it fresh, and to focus on building a well rounded soccer athlete.

As a parent, the 4x regimen requires me to buy in completely to the program and club. There simply isn't time to do anything but. This is a program that is susceptible to not being completely thought out and/or well implemented by USSF, and further, may be poorly executed by the club. My DD is dedicated, and frankly I was happier with 3X because it allowed her to focus on her own particular needs which vary though the year. I wonder if there is anyone on this board who has insight to how USSF is implementing the 4x/week regimen and if they are sensitive to this sort of thing.
