I know they have a nice auditorium. My son is a musician at DeMatha, which would rather spend $$ on sports. So its world-class bands have to have their many concerts at public high schools. I've been to.many.concerts at BHS.

I've had minimal experience with the school but here are my impressions.

The interactions I have had with the front desk staff have been pleasant.
I have emailed the guidance counselors about a scholarship opportunity and never heard back.
I have a co-worker whose children go there and she is satisfied with it.

It is our inbounds school and I am not even considering it for my kids. Mainly because I think they would have a hard time fitting in since the student body is less than 1% white. (They are in a elementary school that is 7% white now).

Some people who are zoned for Bladensburg either figure out a specialty program to go to or request an administrative transfer to Bowie High School (which is under enrolled this year). The deadline for those has past I think but you may be able to call Bowie High and see if a transfer is possible. You would be responsible for transport though.
