Has not reviewed for the exam past 3 days this weekend as there was another school program out of town.
This has been a tough subject in high school so far (C grade in that subject).
kid wants to attend a friend's birthday party later in the evening today.
This will take up a good 4 to 4.5 hours including the commute.
I told the kid to not attend the birthday party and apologize to friend and use that time for reviewing for the exam.
My kid is really grumpy about skipping friend's birthday party. Going late and coming back early option is also received with a lot of crankiness.
DH is fine if kid goes to the birthday and comes back and studies.
If the kid is tired by the end of the day, the the review for exam will not be completed.
But both DH and C are not realizing the time that will be lost in the process and there is no other chance recover the grade in this subject.
(Kid wants to go into STEM major in college)
How to deal with this situation?
No party. Your DC has a C, which should have been addressed earlier. As the C wasn't addressed esrlier, now it's crunch time. DH and DC need to step up and prioritize.
