Yeah, I would really get the vet involved if it has been going on for more than a few days. Testing to rule out other problems is in order before you start changing the diet.

I would have the vet test the dog if this goes on for more than a few days. I'd also try a few days with a small amount of grain free, single protein food supplemented with some rice and canned pumpkin. It won't hurt the dog to eat less for a couple days and might help the stomach settle.

Our dog has a very sensitive stomach and gets bouts of diarrhea several times a year. What helps is switching him to boiled rice and chicken with a tablespoon or two of pumpkin as soon as he starts getting diarrhea. Then after a few days, we slowly reintroduce his regular food. We also give him fortiflora once a day when his stomach is acting up. His regular kibble is the Wegmans grain free dog food. I don't think all dogs need grain free but this food works for him.

Also, this time of year (or really whenever it's exceptionally rainy out) my dog always gets sick. I think all the wetness just helps bacteria and stuff grow well in the soil and spreads feces from other animals around so he gets exposed to more grossness. So it might just be a factor of your dog getting exposed to more bacteria outside (particularly if you're in an area where other dog owners aren't picking up after their dogs, this was a huge issue for us in our old DC neighborhood where dog poop was all over the place).

Our vet gave us a sample of one of the Hills prescription foods and the ingredients were garbage.

She is probably allergic to ingredients. Go with a single protein, maybe venison or rabbit. Ask your vet for prescription diet.

Our dog has an acid stomach and we've done well with Canidae. I also like Force but it's more work because you rehydrate it.

I give mine the grain free dry food from Wegman's. She prefers the cat's food, though LOL

Solid Gold Leaping Waters. And I give probiotics and a digestive supplement with every meal.

Our dog has a sensitive stomach, too. The best we have found thus far is Lotus Oven-Baked Turkey Small Bites Recipe, Grain Free. Quite a mouthful. When our previous find was discontinued (a particular kind of Wellness), the people at Chewy.com were amazing/knowledgeable - they were able to recommend three other dog foods (some same brand/some different), and we went with Lotus. It has been almost one year, and we are quite pleased with it.

Poor thing. Did this come on suddenly or has it been an issue for a while? My dog sometimes eats something random off the ground and it frequently upsets her stomach. I have to watch her carefully when she goes out. Dogs can get viruses, too, so if it has only been going on a few days, give it some time. My dog does fine with the Iams food I give her but the few times I changed her food, it didn't go well.
