I agree that leaving in the middle of the season isn't the best move, but at the end of the day you do what is best for your kid. People may be upset, but like PP said, it becomes an opportunity for other players to step up. If it's at the younger ages, who cares about results anyway.

Last year, my son's team had three outstanding players leave at midseason. Parents were freaking out, but the coach kept everyone calm. It turned out to be the best thing that ever could've happened to my kid. I don't think he was subbed out all spring and he had a fantastic season. He experienced tremendous growth and I wonder if it would've happened that way if the other kids were still there.

what are you talking about? how is it unfair? i’d love if some of my kids teammates quit or the team roster was smaller to begin with. This is an opportunity for them to get more PT. it’s not always a great fit, and i’d rather some people moved on quickly.

Switch. Your attitude will be apparent and the team doesn’t need the negativity.

Don't leave in the middle of the season as that is not fair to the other players.

Try out, get an offer, accept or decline. Next. Play clubs against each other only if you are really weighing both.

What do you mean by "done honestly"? Tell the club you are thinking about it or discuss your reasons (before or after?) leaving? We're leaving and I want it to be on good terms, but struggling with what that means.

Agree would not commit to the club if you do not know who the coach is going to be.

I wouldn't join a team if I didn't know who the coach was going to be. That's literally the most important factor.

We won’t know the coach until the start of the season.

Yes shop around. You are paying customers. If the club puts your kid on a lower team they do not want your kid. They only care about the top 3-4 players on the top team. Everyone else is part of support cast that they can replace easily.

Two factors: kid’s age and if you like assigned coach.

If it’s a big Club and a low team—walk. Dead end road.

Is it ok if you don’t think you’re kid got on a team that is his/ her level? I think my kid is way better than the team he was selected to be on. Stick it out or change clubs?
