Once when I was a 24 yo virgin and didn’t want to be one anymore. He actually was a really nice guy and I don’t regret it at all - probably should have done it earlier. I ended up marrying the next guy I slept with.

PP here. I never thought of it as something that unusual. Granted, I married late, so I had a good number of years as a single person. And I'm now a church-going middle aged mom with kids in Catholic school. I don't think I'm that much of an outlier.

I strongly considered it and came close once, but my friends stopped me.

I went to a small college. One night, a guy in one of my classes started talking to me at the bar. He invited me back to his dorm to watch a movie. I liked him, so I went, and I actually watched the movie until I fell asleep. I did kiss him when I left his room at 6 am the next morning.

It wasn’t until years later that I realized that “watch a movie” was supposed to be code for hooking up. But he didn’t pressure me or anything that night. We dated for several years after that, but ultimately broke up because there was no way for us to be in the same city without sacrificing our career ambitions.

I went home with a guy at a party. I needed a ride, and we had a connection. I was 21. He's now my husband. He calls me the one nightstand gone wrong (I didn't give it up the first night, it was just a car ride and number exchange).
