Paint Branch is listed as a partial immersion program so I'm guessing that only certain subjects are taught in Mandarin. For example, Capitol Heights is a partial immersion program and they have Reading and Math in English and Social Studies/Science/Health in Spanish.

I recently met one of the teachers at the school and the way she described it is that everyone in the school is part of the chinese immersion program....and not all parents are on board with it.
She seemed like a super nice lady and she had only positive things to say about her principal, co-workers and the students.

Is the Chinese immersion program a sub-program within a conventional elementary school? I'm trying to sort out the various online parent reviews - which diverge so greatly and almost sound like they are describing two different schools.

My daughter has attended since kindergarten, I posted on that thread. We’re still happy.

I'm looking for some informed opinions of Paint Branch Elementary School in College Park. We are thinking of moving to the area and have heard conflicting things about this school. Our son will be in K this fall.
