My daughter called both of us mommy. My husband wasn't as charmed by it as I was. But he would answer.

I think this is so true. I remember being a little kid and just needing either parent to help me with something, so I'd always be like "Mommy or Daddy?" to get their attention.

We decided that Mom is a title, not a name So, we are both: mom, mama, mommy, etc.

DD is almost 6. We did Mommy and Mama but now she calls us both Mom most of the time. Sometimes if I answer her, she will say " I didnt mean you, I meant Mama" but for the most part its ok. I think Mommy is starting to sound too babyish to her, and prob Mama is too.

I teach much older kids, but the kids I know seem to call both mom when talking to them, or when it’s obvious from the context (e.g. talking to one about the other) or when it doesn’t matter (e.g. telling me “I’ll get my mom to sign that), and using first names otherwise (e.g. a kid just told me “Jane is leaving on a work trip, but Kate can come to the award ceremony.”)

No one is ever confused.

Our kids call us both daddy, without much issue.

We were both Mama, then Mommy, and are now Mom to both. Both are teens and we've not had any issues. It's hard to explain, but we can usually tell which mom they mean by which kid it is and the tone they use. If our DD sounds frustrated when she says Mom, then it's for me because she's stressed about something school related and needs my help. Our son also says "hey mom" more often than not when addressing my wife and just "mom" when addressing me.

We were Mom and Mommy until they were about 8y and then we both became Mom. They are now teens and it hasn't posed any issues.

My kids call my partner pops and myself daddy but many times they call both of us daddy and we don't correct them.

My almost two year old calls both me and my partner mommy. We tried to be mama and mommy, but she never used mama...and, as the person who was supposed to be called "mama," I didn't feel like correcting her when she held her hands up and called me "mommy." So we're both mommy right now. Anyone else in this situation? I read on another thread that a kid shortened both mommy and mama to "mom," at some point anyway, so maybe we'll end up with the same name no matter what?
