10 years ago I was 38 weeks pregnant with our first child and my husband (now ex husband) said he wouldn’t do anything for me for mother’s day because I wasn’t a mother yet.

I flipped the script today and brought a card to my very pregnant neighbor.

I got a card from my 6 yr old daughter and a present of sorts from my 8 year old son scrounged change and rocks!) coffee in bed, dcum time, DH grocery shopping for the week, I'm getting a pedicure later and we are all.goung to a museum this afternoon. Plus I'm in London for work next week.... No complaints here!!!!

Abusive ex has sent DD over with a handmade card the last two years. A**hole. He couldn't be bothered to do anything when we were married, and this is just a purppseful mindf***. I hung it up. She tried to write happy mother's day. I love that she wrote it.

He will mever get anything for father's day from me unless school sends it home.

No complaints here. Hallmark Holiday. Husband helps me all the time and is teaching me how to fix things. Kids are older, and oldest brought me something from the farmers market yesterday. Happy momma here

DH was just diagnosed with Hep A from a recent trip to North Africa. He’s glowing yellow and has been vomiting nonstop for 48h.

I have a cold that will not go away and my head feels filled with concrete, plus I’ll be going back & forth to appointments to have myself & DS tested for exposure to this &$#@ virus. For now, I’m sleeping on the sofa & have been washing sheets and towels like mad.

DS has 4 gigantic papers due by Tuesday. He’s got 1.5 done and is a miserably slow, disorganized writer.

No family nearby.

I hate today. I’m going to pretend Mother’s Day is next weekend.

I started out annoyed bc DH offered to take kids to their volunteer gig. Had to be there at 7. He set his alarm for 6:45, leaving zero time to get ready and eat and get there. So I got up and rushed kids through the bare minimum of getting dressed and brushing teeth to get them out the door for the 15 minute drive there. Not sure what DH was thinking with the time to do all of that.

But he brought back a latte for me, so all is forgiven.

Husband great but 4.5 stayed up too late with babysitter and is currently on minute 15 of a screeching tantrum about morning so I'm not particularly feeling the joy of motherhood right now

What? Your husband sent you an e-card and also sent others that same e-card in the same email? I’m sure your day will include other things. Why are you getting upset about that? E-card just to you would have been better but it still wouldn’t have shown a huge amount of effort. Focus on what your kid or kids are up to with you today.

Three years ago I was enjoying a lovely Mother’s Day working on our teeny tiny front “yard” of our rowhouse with teen ds. I was weeding under the Japanese maple oak, went to stand up and cut my head on a stub on a branch.

“Mom, I think something’s wrong. You have blood dripping down your face.”

I guess freaking your kid out and getting stitches in your head on Mother’s Day makes it the worst for me.

It’s my third Mother’s Day, and my DH is once again away for military training. We have never celebrated mother’s day together since having a child.

But, I’m not put out, because I’m not my husband’s mother, and I’ve spent every year with my own precious child. Why do you care who your husband says happy Mother’s Day to? Did your kids do anything nice for you? Did you call your own mom yet?

It's only 7 in the morning but I already have one. DH sent an email with happy mother's day in the subject to so many people. And didn't bcc. And it was just a stupid ecard. So now all day instead of a nice personal note from DH, I'll be getting random emails from people who reply all that just say "thanks!"

Got any good, by which I mean bad, mother's day stories?
