I've heard their prices are over the top and they practice high-pressure sales tactics. There are hundreds of handymen types who can do this work for you. Check your Long contract carefully to see what it takes to get out of it and get your money back. State law also comes into play when it comes to a time frame.

I would never again do business with Long Fence or Long Roofing. They have lots of salesmen, too few crews.

Yours is a small job and they are probably working on more extensive/expensive projects now (new builds, etc.). Ask to speak to your sales person's supervisor or the scheduler.

$282? How much are they charging you total?
Was the original fence set in concrete? Are the posts still in the ground? If so you could easily put the fence back together couldn’t you?
If the post isn’t set in concrete they should do that this time around.

I built my own fence 25 years ago and no part of it has ever blown down.

$282? How much are they charging you total?
Was the original fence set in concrete? Are the lists still in the ground? If so you could easily put the fence back together couldn’t you?
If the post isn’t set in concrete they should do that this time around.

I built my own fence 25 years ago and no part of it has ever blown down.

You filled in your pool??

& you signed a contract with Long Fence and gave them money to fix a fence before they did the work? Mistake #2.
That is a small job that you could hire many people to do and you shouldn’t pay until after they’ve done the work.

This is a busy time for them and all contractors. If you’re willing to issue an ultimatum, do it. If not, keep doing what you’re doing.

I would appreciate any suggestions on how to successfully push Long Fence to actually do the work I contracted them to do. The background is that the high winds we experienced in early March blew over a section of fence into my neighbor's yard. The fence is a 4 rail split post fence erected in 2009 to MoCo code for an in ground pool. We since filled in the pool, so being to code is not the issue it would have been. However, I do want the fence repaired, and on March 18 I signed a contract with Long Fence. When I asked at the time how long it would take to schedule the job I was told "3 to 4 weeks". That was almost 8 weeks ago! I call my Long Fence sales guy weekly to ask when the job will be done. While he returns my calls promptly he is never able to give me a date. I want to maintain good relations with my neighbor, keep deer out of my yard, and keep my kids in the yard, so I really want the job done. But I'm losing faith in Long Fence. They seem much more adept at giving quotes and taking deposits than actually doing the work they were contracted to do. Any suggestions? TIA.
