Mann is one of the top elementary schools. I did not love the social climate and there are other schools I liked better for that (basically any other of the JKLM)--but if that's where you got the numbers, GO, put on a smiley face and work extra hard on the social dimension. Go to the parent cocktail, pay your class funds, pay some of the PTA ask (whatever you can afford), go to all the fairs and stuff. The before and after care (independent paid service that coordinates closely with the school) was outstanding if it's still there, and will be a boon to you. Also, look at carpooling and other creative solutions.
If you are inbound for Van Ness, I would choose Van Ness over Mann. The staff at Van Ness is incredible and the school is on the same level as Mann.
