The salaries for teachers should be pretty easy to figure out: how long has the teacher taught? how long in this system? what degrees does the teacher have?

I think it should be easy to find info so DCUMs can see how little these teachers are being paid. But she/he makes $100K! Yeah, after a Master's degree and 20 yrs of teaching.

Pwcs is the worse they want you to pay $200 dollars in order to see it

There is some general salary information out there but nothing specific to individuals. Fairfax underground has every fcps teacher name and salary info. I don’t think we are allowed to post that info on this site.

The level of nosiness is unreal.

Knowing the person's salary wouldn't tell you want their pension is. Furthermore, people retire for many different reasons and not one of them is any of your business. I know a teacher who planned to work for several more years. Then her grandbaby came along and all bets were off. She retired. It had nothing to do with the pension. Another left because she didn't like what's become of teaching and education. She decided life's too short, she'd put in enough years so she retired.

FWIW I don't believe your story. One, I don't believe you're even married. What woman with a family has time to worry about someone else's money? And what man sits around with his wife pondering a person's reason for retirement? Secondly, I don't think you're trying to figure out a person's pension by asking for their salary. I think you're trying to find out how much a younger (than retirement age) teacher is making simply because you're nosey.

So maybe 30 years of service? If so, that person probably makes in the $87k-$100k range depending on degree level. The state pension will be about 50% of the highest three years' average, so figure $44k-$50k. ERFC will provide another 25%, so that takes it to $66k-$75k or so before healthcare costs and such. Of course it will vary depending on age and number of years worked.

Then find out if they have a masters degree, an additional 30 hours over a masters degree or a doctorate degree.

But really, why do you need to know OP?

What will knowing that information do for you? Will you then seek details on the person's spouse's income? the incomes of their roommates? amount of spousal/child support? Find out their mortgage payments?

In other words, there's more to a person's income/standard of living than their base salary.

There is a detailed budget on the fcps website that has some of this. I think also in some other places.

I’m an FCPS principal of an elementary school. I will make 143K next year. I started teaching in 1990.

They recently posted salaries on the Baltimore City schools website for all employees.

Sometimes a person will complete a FOIA and post them online.

If you know how long they have been teaching you can get an idea by looking at the FCPS pay scales.
