My kids have done this from ES through HS. The only potential problem is that if there are times when you need your child to take to the bus in the morning, the stop you thought was there might no longer be there because it has not been in use in the morning. But that's only a problem if you are one of only a few people using a particular stop.

My kids did this for several years in ES and now for HS. They also once in a blue moon take it in the a.m. You are not paying for the bus so it doesn't matter to them when you take it. This was initially a surprise to me because I'm from CA where my parents always had to pay for school bus service so they chose to only pay for AM service (in MS) or PM service (in HS).

Does anyone know if it’s possible for a child to take the bus home from school only?
My child has been admitted to an option school on the opposite side of the county that starts at 8 am. I called transportation
to ask about possible pick up times but it’s much too early for them to know or even guess. They did suggest that the bus might have to snake
through a lot of neighborhoods to get a lot of kids. I am thinking I might be better off driving my child (it might be shorter)
and then having her take the bus home. I can call tomorrow and ask about policy, but does anybody know if this is allowed? Thanks in advance.
