They all have the same zone of test scores. Ross and Stoddert are arguably at the top in recent years. Might as well just start referring to the top-performing elementaries as "upper northwest elementary schools" -- UNWES. Except I guess Brent on Cap Hill is pretty good too. I agree, I'd say the difference is where you want to live not the schools.

Unless you feel strongly about chickens. Janney has a chicken coop.

We are at Murch and love it, but would be equally happy at Eaton or Harst. The differences are almost non-existant.

I agree that Hardy's time has come. It's great to have another middle school option.

Also recommend looking beyond the outdated (if it ever had any merit!) JKLM world. Hearst, Ross and Eaton (renovation to get through there, though) are great, too. You do have to consider the middle and high school path but Hardy is a good option.

Agree that the exclusive acronym is outdated, but saying "lots" of elementary schools in DC are "great" is a bit of an overstatement. Yes, there are more, but it's still a small percentage of schools that people are excited to go to and stay through fifth.

JKLMs aren't really a thing anymore. Lots of elementary schools in DC are great now.

Aftercare options, facilities. Lafayette houses some special education classrooms. Key has a higher percentage of students who live OOB.

Are there distinct differences between Janney and Murch? Lafayette and Key? The PARCC scores are within 5-10 points at these schools, and I would assume they have to follow the same core curriculum. What are the differences?
