Dandelions are one of the few flowers out in early spring that bees can feed on. Try to view them with forbearance. But yeah, best to cut them before the seedheads open.

Make sure it's that and not marsh marigold first! The latter is native and lovely.

Ah, yes, thank you - lesser celandine or fig buttercup. I was afraid of that. It is so beautiful this time of year near the creeks. It is British. A quick internet search tells me to eradicate it where I can

Probably fig buttercup. It's all over the place in Glover Archbold Park right now. Beautiful, but unfortunately invasive. It crowds out other needed vegetation.

What is the name of the yellow wildflower that grows near water and is in bloom now? It makes a lovely ground cover in the woods along the runs. I have a wet yard, as we are close to a creek, and would love to plant it if it isn’t considered invasive to the VA area.
