There is stuff that he will never watch without me or I will never watch without him, but it is fun to watch together. Some shows I can't watch and some shows I would not subject my DH to. There are probably only two or three shows that we would watch independently if we didn't watch them together. As the result we watch too much

Compromise or take turns.

Of course? We're not the same person but would rather watch things together than apart. So we watch The Ultimate Fighter for him and Real Housewives for me and Westworld / The Walking Dead / Game of Thrones for both of us.

What is the alternative? Always watching what you want and screw the other person? Vice versa? That's not a relationship.

Neither of us care that much. If he wants to watch MacGyver and I don't, I'll just sit with him and read a book or magazine. If he doesn't want to watch Bravo, he'll read or work while he sits with me.

Yes, we pretty much always compromise. We'll go through options and veto / upvote them until we find something we both feel like watching.

When I watch sports, though, I do it alone.

We don't have a TV. I watch my episodes on my computer, and sometimes DH, who doesn't watch TV, comes and sits by me, mostly to share in the experience, even though he's not a super fan of Poldark or whatever it is I'm watching.

We have some stuff we enjoy together. Otherwise we either compromise or switch off on shows. And sometimes we do our own things

Hate everything DH watches on TV. It's either news talk shows, or car shows, or Walking Dead, or stupid action movies. Thank god he goes to bed early.

Absolutely hate every second of Westworld but I watch it every time with him. It’s more important to me that we share moments together.

We got through a few weeks where we do separate tv to catch up on our own things (or my DH might be listening to music) -- him, prison lock up shows and deadliest catch type stuff, while me is CW shows and other low brow stuff. Then we go through a few weeks where we power watch joint shows, esp when a new season crops up. Our shows tend to be the hbo/showtime/amc stuff: GOT, walking dead, americans, homeland, etc.

Are you asking if I watch something that I don't like, but my partner does.

Short answer: no. I don't watch much tv so I don't like watching things I don't enjoy. If DH wants to watch it fine, but I'm doing something else.

We do have a few shows that we mutually enjoy and watch together.

Ugh and here is why I am addicted to the internet. DH is watching stuff I don't want to watch on the TV, so I'm scrolling through my phone...

Sometimes but it helps to have more than one TV or computer!

We each bite the bullet and watch something we wouldn't choose ourselves sometimes.

Netflix or whatever? Do you watch the same genre each time?
