They always get into some good schools. The issue is when they feel out-matched by peers who have attended far more rigorous public and private schools. It is a rude awakening for many.

I am not employed by the school, though some days I feel I am definitely working at being an engaged parent

Believe me, 2-3 outstanding students who got outside help from college counselors, either from non-profits or private college coaches. Wilson now has 1 college counselor for a junior class of 560 and 2 for a senior class of 540, which stinks.
